Thoughtless

If something needs to be transported in the pride and joy of a proud car owner, then no harm must come to the car. And so some sheeting was laid out over the rear seat before chopped wood was placed on it.

Didn’t the driver think of his own safety? No, probably not. So why was the chopped wood not placed in the trunk? Because there is already some in there.
If the driver has to break in an emergency, the seats at least would be ruined. Let us hope that he does not also lose his head from sheer thoughtlessness.
