In South America too, cotton is sometimes transported. And here too, the loading area of a pickup truck has been utilized to the full, and alongside the benefits their peers on the Indian subcontinent have already discovered (and we have just described), these drivers are demonstrating a further potential use of the load.

If you have a closer look at the load of cotton, a worker accompanying the transport is resting on the load here also. On the one hand, it offers a cool, breezy resting place – in what is probably the burning heat of the day – and on the other hand, it is undoubtedly extremely soft, an indubitable property of cotton.
If, however, you consider that we travel on the roads relatively safely, protected as we are by the A pillar and B pillar as well as the whole of the bodywork, clipped into our seatbelts and if all else fails, cushioned with airbags, it’s not just safety issues that cross our minds. We shall not mention the load securing in this photo.
