Figure 11: Coffee in general cargo ship. The bagged cargo lies on double dunnage (criss-cross dunnage) to protect it from sweat. At the ship’s side the cargo is protected by spar ceilings and at the front deep tank wall by upright wooden dunnage. The top dunnage (paper) provides a certain degree of protection against dripping sweat and dirt.
